A recent experience compells me to send out a warning about some of these "free, drag and drop" all in one, web design and hosting sites. One of my clients is a very talented person. There isn't anything she can't accomplish. When she wanted a simple web store, she was hoping to create it herself and be able to update it herself. A particular company claims if you use their software you can design a FREE web site by dragging and dropping eveything you need into the site. These claims are designed to lure people in and before they know it, they've spent a fortune with no way out! In actuality, the hosting ended up costing the same as a traditional site and the additional fees you must pay to add your own images, shopping carts and forms was OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. The drag and drop FREE website ended up costing more than a conventional site designed by a professional. It was anything BUT user friendly. After four days and the efforts of three people trying to create a two page site, the professional designers who also tried, told her give up, before she published the site and damand her money back. When she did, WEBSTARTS refused to refund her money! She got nothing tangible for hundreds of dollars. BUYER BEWARE!!!
