"No Place Like Home" draws attention to the growing problem of homelessness in America and the unique problems faced by women in this situation. Women face incredible odds in trying to rebuild their lives after relationship failure, lay offs, paycuts/low wages, or a lack of affordable housing have left them with little more than their own determination and indelible spirit. This documentary attempts to raise public awareness of the women who are called, "the invisible homeless."
These are women who may not be living on the streets, though a small percentage, do. Some live with relatives or in shelters until they can rebuild their lives. This is a story about their struggles, and their determination to rebuild and to help other women do the same.
They share their knowledge of organizations that they discovered to help them on their journey home. These women are examples to us all — truly inspiring.
If you are so inclined, please dontate to any of these charities. Earmark your donation to go towards building more community shelters and soup kitchens, in YOUR AREA. Petition your representatives to focus their efforts to building affordable housing and creating living wage jobs.
